What Is the PRP Joint Therapy?

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Joint Therapy is used for joint pain, injury healing and immobility problems. Platelet-rich plasma therapy, sometimes called PRP therapy or autologous conditioned plasma (ACP) therapy, attempts to take advantage of the blood’s natural healing properties to repair damaged cartilage, tendons, ligaments, muscles, or even bone.

Dr. Randy Relyea has helped patients who suffer from arthritis, inflammation and bone problems significantly reduce pain, rebuild tissue and improve their overall quality of life.

What is PRP?

Platelet Rich Plasma (aka PRP) is a concentration of platelets and growth factors created from a small amount of your own blood or bone marrow. The growth factors in this isolated part of your blood have been known to improve the signaling and recruitment of cells, which helps with recovery and production of new tissue.

How do PRP Joint Therapy sessions work?

PRP Joint Therapy is similar to our other PRP Services where the client’s blood is drawn and run through a centrifuge to separate the PRP. Then Dr. Randy Relyea will inject the isolated PRP into strategic areas around the joint to help promote healing, tissue growth and reduce inflammation over time.

Dr. Relyea will provide a full consultation for the treatment area and will help set expectations on results and how many PRP Joint Therapy treatments may be needed.
